We don’t just give money.
We take responsibility.
When a family faces a crisis, it is not just money that they need. Each case has to be examined from every angle in order to grasp the depth and breadth of the issue.
For example:
- Having an ill child can affect the emotional health of the parents and siblings, can lead a family into debt, and can make the home dysfunctional. Aside from medical treatment, there might be a need for emotional therapy for the sick child or siblings.
- A sick parent in the house often means that the house is not running properly. The family may require cleaning help, a temporary monetary supplement to compensate for loss of income, bureaucratic help, therapy, and tutoring for the children.
- A home where poverty is rampant may require budget management training, shalom bayis or marriage counselling, and job placement, in addition to making sure the children have food to eat every day.
- A single parent home may require financial assistance, help with beis din and court-related issues regarding support and custody, tutoring, home repairs and a listening and supportive ear.
Kupa Shel Tzedakah serves the community in all of these areas and more. We help over 150 families on a monthly basis (including over 700 children), over 250 families for the chagim (500 additional children), 30 families with chronic illness, and 30 single parent families, all in addition to emergency cases that arise each month.
We also provide weekly food baskets and food stamps for poor families, and subsidized clothing food and kitchenware sales before Yom Tov. We run a competent referral system, and provide a listening ear and shoulder to cry on in time of need.

Our annual budget is close to 3,000,000 shekel, and with your help, we can accomplish much much more.
The Kupa is under the constant guidance of HaRav Mordechai Goldstein, Shlita, the Morah D’asra of the community.
How We Make A Difference
Medical
A family with a sick parent doesn’t – can’t – function properly. The mother is incapacitated, stuck in bed in the aftermath of a heart transplant; or the father has cancer, getting treatment for months at a time in the hospital. During this time, the Kupa Shel Tzedakah steps in to assist with whatever is needed. Raising funds. Making sure the other children have food to eat and clothing to wear.
FOOD/CLOTHING SUBSIDIES
Yom tov time, before school, before winter, we offer subsidized sales for food and clothing to hundreds of families
SCHOOL AID
We offer scholarships to families who are not able to pay the tuition. In other cases, we are able to speak to the school and havethem lower the tution. We also offer school supplies at subsidized costs to hundreds of families

EMOTIONAL SUPPORT/THERAPY
We subsidize emotional and social therapy for many children, without which simply would not get the help they need
HACHNOSAS KALLAH
Offering assistance for the most basic needs for the chosson and kallah leading up to the chupa. We are not talking apartments. Simply getting the young couple the basic clothing for the chasana and the paying of the chasana itself.

Monthly food baskets/vouchers
Food baskets and food vouchers for basic necessities gets distributed on a monthly basis – to around 1,000 people. Our goal is to make sure there are no starving children here. Every child should have food each day.
With help from national and international organizations, the Kupa Shel Tzedakah now supplies food vouchers and subsidies to over people. Each of the recipients comes from a large family with a very low income. The budget for this project is close to 100,000 shekel per month
assistance for single parents
For many families in Eretz Yisroel, even 2 parents’ salaries don’t cover the month’s expenses. When one parent passes away or there is a divorce – the single parent can collapse from the stress or simply trying to put bread on the table
TUTORING & MENTORING
A child needs to succeed in school. When the child struggles in school, it will have a detrimental effect on his whole day and his whole life. Often a mentor or a tutor is what is needed, to not just learn with them and teach them, but to simply believe in them and to talk to them. We subsidize tutors and mentors for many children, without which simply would not get the help they need
